About Pioneer Mountain Cabins
Tucked at the base of Montana’s Pioneer Mountains and just a half-mile from the famous Big Hole River, Pioneer Mountain Cabins is more than a place to stay; it’s a place to reconnect with the land, the water, and each other.
Our four cabins offer a cozy, peaceful base for travelers seeking a true Montana experience. Whether you’re casting a line on one of the state’s premier blue ribbon trout streams or scanning the hills for moose, elk, or deer, you’ll be surrounded by the wild beauty that makes this region of Montana so special. Occasionally, deer even wander right onto the property—just one of the many reminders that nature is never far away.
We’re proud to call Melrose, Montana home—a small, quiet town where the pace slows down and the views stretch for miles. Since opening our doors, our goal has been simple: to provide a comfortable, down-to-earth stay that lets you soak up the very best of Big Sky Country. Whether you’re here for the fishing, the solitude, or just to breathe in the fresh mountain air, we’re glad you’ve found us.
Each of our four cabins are equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave, AC, satellite TV, complete coffee service, bathroom, front porch, firepit and private deck. Each of the cabins have a private bedroom with queen size bed. Additional bedding is in the common area with two cabins having a queen size bed and two cabins having two twin beds. Two of our cabins are wheel-chair accessible with ramps.
